Honda Inspire was first introduced to the public in 1989 under the name of the Honda Accord Inspire, which unequivocally hinted at continuity, but since 1992 the middle name has disappeared, and the car has been produced as a completely independent model. In technical terms, it was a Honda Accord on an extended chassis and with a slightly modified body. Models differ from each other externally only radiator grilles. The first generation Honda Inspire was produced from 1992 to 1995. The engines used were units G20A and G25A. All cars were equipped exclusively with automatic transmission and were front-wheel drive.
For the Japanese domestic market and for some other countries, this car was produced under the name Honda Vigor. The second generation lasted on the conveyor from 1995 to 1998. To the engines of the first generation was added one more - C32A. All cars were still equipped only with automatic transmissions and had front-wheel drive. The G25A engine on this generation was installed in two different versions. In the configuration "S" - 190 horsepower, and in the other trim 180. By the way, for the previous generation installed only 190-horsepower engine.
In addition to the more powerful engine, the S version also fitted other wheels with 5 studs, dimension 205 / 60R15 (since 1996), an anti-roll bar at the rear and a modified silencer design. A more powerful engine differs from its less powerful counterpart by a modified compression ratio, a different shape of the cams of the camshaft and the shape of the pistons, as well as "firmware." Accordingly, this motor consumes better fuel.
With the end of the release of this model, the legendary inline five-cylinder engine, which was developed by engineers who designed engines for F1 and this engine absorbed many of the latest technologies, has faded into oblivion since it is part of the “formula” V10. Cars equipped with an engine C32A, had a very rich equipment and were a copy of the car Acura TL 3.2L, produced for the American market. This engine was developed by engineers of the American division of Honda and no longer had a proprietary “Honda” trait (the crankshaft rotation of almost all Honda engines is counterclockwise) - it turns like everything - in a clockwise direction.
We also recall that a distinctive feature of the 1st and 2nd generations of this car is the lack of door glass frames (the so-called hardtop body type). With the release of subsequent generations, this trait has disappeared. Excellent directional stability and high comfort when driving all Honda Inspire provides a successful system of mass distribution along the axes, which is 60% at the front and 40% at the rear.
