The Mitsubishi ASX is a compact crossover for the city, developed on the Project Global platform. With the release of this car, Mitsubishi decided to contribute to filling the market for one of the most sought-after classes of modern cars - compact all-terrain vehicles with sporty characteristics. For the first time the car was introduced in 2010 at the Geneva Motor Show. The model has compact dimensions: the length of the crossover is 4.295 m, and the wheelbase is 2.67 m. The exterior is quite spectacular.
The design is designed taking into account the best traditions of Mitsubishi. In the front of the car, a trapezoid-shaped grille (Jet Fighter) is used. Emphasized sporty body lines and a slightly sloping back roof slope not only improve aerodynamics, but also emphasize the “wedge-shaped” design. It is noteworthy that the lower part of the bumpers and powders, not painted in body color, create an additional longitudinal line.
On the ASX, a fundamentally new front optics with xenon lamps with an illumination angle of 160 degrees is used. Rear lights are arranged in a horizontal block. Massive rear-view mirrors, fitted with additional turn signals, fit very well into the general view. For ASX, a completely new 8-color range for Mitsubishi was proposed.
Especially for this model was developed an exclusive color "Kawasemi" - the so-called kingfisher, a bird of turquoise-blue color, living next to the cleanest water bodies. This color emphasizes the environmental friendliness of Mitsubishi cars and the company's responsible attitude towards environmental protection. The salon is very roomy and ergonomic, it can comfortably accommodate 5 people. The seats are wide, the space between them is big. The seven-inch navigator display, which displays all the basic information and transmits the image from the rear-view camera, has a very pleasant, soft backlight.
The desired temperature in the cabin provides climate control with intuitive controls and Hands Free Bluetooth. Impressive trunk volume - 415 liters. And this is despite the fact that it contains a subwoofer and a full-size spare wheel, specially supplied in the performance of the car “for Russian roads”. In the Russian market there is a choice of a whole range of petrol engines - 1.6 liter (117 hp), 1.8 liter (140 hp) and 2.0 (150 hp). A front-wheel drive car with a 1.6-liter engine is equipped with a manual transmission, and with a 1.8-liter engine, an infinitely variable variator with Sports mode.
The most powerful engine volume of 2.0 liters will be equipped with all-wheel drive transmission only. In the basic configuration Mitsubishi ASX is equipped with air conditioning, heated seats and mirrors, full power, as well as a battery with increased capacity and engine start system at low temperatures. In the maximum configuration the car will delight the panoramic roof with LED illumination. The car offers a full set of active and passive safety devices: MASC and MATC (Stability), ABS, regenerative braking system, emergency braking assistance system, EBD (electronic brake force distribution), RISE body structure, 7 airbags, if you count and small pad for the driver's knees.
