Fiat 600 car (another name - Seicento) is a small subcompact city car presented by the Italian automobile company Fiat in 1955. Its length was only 3 220 mm. It is worth noting that it was the first car from the company Fiat with the engine located behind. Production of this compact car continued from 1955 to 1969. With regard to technical equipment, then under the hood of the Fiat 600 housed an engine volume of 0.6 liters with a capacity of 21 hp.

The maximum speed of the car with such a power unit was 95 km / h. Versions with an engine capacity of 0.7 liter and 29 hp with a maximum speed of 110 km / h were also offered. The car had good ventilation and heating systems. The Fiat 600 had a unique suspension design that included springs that served as a stabilizer between the front gas shock absorbers and spring shock absorbers connected to the trailing arms at the back. Transmission on all models of the Fiat 600 was installed 4-speed with 3 synchronizers (for the first speed there was no synchronizer). The brakes on all wheels were drum.

In the USSR, a similar car was produced in the period from 1960 to 1963. under the name Zaporozhets ZAZ-965. Despite the assumptions that when designing the ZAZ-965 car, engineers relied on the Fiat 600 model, ZAZ representatives say that the project is exclusively Soviet. Note that these cars were produced under the brand name SEAT in Spain in the period from 1957 to 1973 .. The model was called the SEAT 600 and was exported to Germany, Austria, Belgium, Denmark, Finland, Greece, the Netherlands, Italy, Norway, Portugal, Colombia, Chile , Ecuador, Guatemala, Panama, Angola, Cameroon, Congo, Gabon, Guinea, Lebanon, Senegal, Somalia and Zaire.

A similar model was popular in the former Yugoslavia, produced under the brand name Zastava (Zastava 750). Some time after the debut of the Fiat 600, in 1956, the 6-seater version of the car called the Fiat 600 Multipla appears. He became the forerunner of modern multipurpose vehicles. At that time, this model was widely used in taxi services in Italy. In 1958, a number of Fiat 600s were sent to the Ghia design studio to develop an open-top version, called the Jolly. The car received new wicker seats and a cloth awning, which served as protection for passengers from the scorching sun. It is known that the party of Fiat 600 Jolly was very limited.

To date, there are about 100 copies, each of which is an excellent instance for collectors. 32 copies, from 1958 to 1962. used as a taxi on Catalina Island off the coast of Los Angeles (USA).
