The world premiere of the Nissan Juke crossover took place at the Geneva Motor Show in March 2010. The car is based on the Qazana concept, introduced in 2009, built on the Renault / Nissan B platform. Its length is 4135 mm, width - 1765, height - 1570, wheelbase - 2530 mm, ground clearance - 175 mm. The amount of luggage, probably for the sake of minimizing size, is quite modest - 251 liters (830 liters with the rear sofa unfolded). Its extraordinary appearance strikes at first sight, several styles are used in the exterior: the massive bottom of the car with plastic lining shows an obvious relationship with an SUV, while the top with a coupe-shaped silhouette, narrow windows, hidden rear door handles clearly resembles a sports car. Extraordinary decisions of designers have found continuation inside. Sporting aesthetics is also present in the interior: in the form of seats, the center console, styled as a motorcycle fuel tank, in the dashboard equipped with two optitronic instruments, in contrasting trim (black with red or black with gray) of the cabin.
The internal space does not differ open spaces, but not only the front passengers, but also the rear passengers do not feel offended. The sporting spirit of the Nissan Juke also reflects its dynamic performance and, above all, the new turbocharged gasoline engine with a volume of 1.6 liters. issuing 190 hp power with a maximum torque of 240 Nm.
The engine is equipped with a direct fuel injection system (increases power and torque, reduces harmful emissions), a turbocharger and an intermediate air cooler (allows to achieve high peak power and torque), as well as a mechanism for continuous change of valve timing, controls the intake and exhaust valves (provides high torque throughout the rev range). The engine parts use friction-reducing technologies (carbon coating for valve tappets, “mirror” surfaces of camshafts, piston rings with ceramic coating). The turbocharged engine is available with a 6-speed manual gearbox or with the Xtronic CVT-M6 variator with manual gear shifting.

This system improves the car’s handling and reduces understeer on bends.

As for the front wheel drive versions, they come with MacPherson struts and a type “H” rear suspension with a torsion beam and guide levers. In the basic configuration, the Visia crossover will receive 16-inch steel or alloy wheels, in the Acenta and Tekna versions - 17-inch alloy wheels of various designs, as well as optional 18-inch wheels. There are three new options for painting the body: metallic Sunlight Yellow, metallic Ink Blue and Solid Red. Optional mirror housings, side sills, spoilers and door handles can be of a contrasting color. The small trunk was among the few but significant shortcomings of the Juke in its early years. In Nissan tried to fix it, changing the shape of the trunk, but only in the front-wheel drive version of the crossover.
Now its volume is 354 liters. It turns out that in the trunk of the all-wheel drive version is still only 251 liters. In the salon it is worth noting the presence of a new multimedia complex and a set of security systems Nissan Safety Shield, which includes a lane control system, a system for determining objects in blind zones, a system for determining moving objects. In the basic configuration, the center console, door panels and other interior elements are painted gray, and additional individualization packages provide for their coloring in red, white, black or bright yellow.
The updated model is equipped with more economical and environmentally friendly power plants. The outdated 117-horsepower 1.6-liter engine was replaced by a new unit with a 1.2-liter capacity and 115 hp. (190 Nm of torque). Fuel consumption in the mixed cycle is about 5.5 liters. The second petrol engine volume of 1.6 liters and power 190 hp familiar to us from the dorestayling model, but it was upgraded - they increased the compression ratio (from 9.5 to 10.5), and also introduced an exhaust gas recirculation system. The former 1.5-liter 110-strong turbodiesel (not supplied to Russia) entered the power range.
