The ECHO is a two- or four-door sedan, first introduced by Toyota in 1999 in Detroit. The car appeared on sale in the fall of the same year in the USA and in the spring of 2000 in Japan. Toyota ECHO is an inexpensive front-wheel-drive car, aimed primarily at teenagers, not rich youth, students. On the Echo only modernized 1.5-liter engine with 110 hp VVT-i system is installed. (142 Nm), which allows you to accelerate the car to 100 km / h in 13 seconds. The maximum speed of the car is 160 km / h. Fuel consumption is only 6.9 liters in urban mode and 5.8 on the highway.
For harmful emissions, the Echo engine meets the requirements of the so-called low-emission vehicles (Light Emission Vehicles - LEV). In the basic configuration ECHO is equipped with a five-speed manual gearbox, air conditioning, power steering, two airbags, electric driver's seat. As options can be installed four-automatic automatic transmission, sunroof, ABS, electric windows and central locking. In the fall of 2002, the model underwent a cosmetic restyling, the hood profile changed, a new chrome grille, headlights and a modernized interior (instrument cluster, seats, trim materials, a new stereo with 4 speakers and a CD player on request) appeared.
