The Ferrari 365 GT series includes a whole line of Gran Turismo sports cars with a front engine, which were produced by the Italian car company Ferrari from 1966 to 1970. In 1966, this series replaced such models as the Ferrari 330 and Ferrari 500 Superfast. The first of the 365 GT series was released in 1966, the model Ferrari 365 California, which just replaced the above-mentioned model Ferrari 500 Superfast. Under the hood of the sports car was a 4.4-liter V12 engine, which was designed based on the 4-liter Colombo powerplant from the 330th model. The 365 California was built on the same chassis as the 500 Superfast, but received the bodywork of a cabriolet that Pininfarina developed.

The debut of the model took place in 1966 at the Geneva Motor Show. During the production of this sport car, and more precisely in the period from 1966 to 1967, only seventeen copies were produced, two of which were with the right-hand drive. In 1968, the most popular model of this series, Ferrari 365 GT 2 + 2, came to light. The name speaks for itself that it was a four-seater coupe. Its predecessor was the Ferrari 330 GT 2 + 2. The new car was equipped with an independent rear suspension. In general, the equipment of this model was quite luxurious. It had power steering and brakes, power windows, leather seats, and air conditioning was also offered as an option.

Thus, this sports car quickly became one of the company's bestsellers. Its production continued until 1970, and a total of 800 copies were produced during this period. Also in 1968, instead of the model 330 GTC, a car was released under the name 365 GTC. The main difference between these models was the 4.4-liter V12 engine characteristic of the entire 365th series. External differences were insignificant: more pronounced front fenders and hood. Even the rest of the technical equipment of sports cars was similar. During production, which lasted until 1970, only 150 cars were produced, 22 of which were RHD.

And this model was already replaced by the version called 365 GTC / 4, which was already built on the chassis of the Ferrari Daytona. And the latest model in the 365 GT series, released in 1968, was the Ferrari 365 GTS, which was offered in the back of a convertible (Spyder). In turn, she replaced the Ferrari 330 GTS. Here, the automaker also limited itself to replacing the engine and external changes, as in the coupe.
